The new iPad appears to be called simply iPad, rather than iPad 3.

The new iPad, in variants with and without cellular data capabilities, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities and both black and white finishes, are to be available for pre-ordering later today starting at US$499 in the U.S. Shipments are to commence on March 16 in the following countries: U.S., Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
