Westminster Bridge is a bridge over the River Thames linking Westminster and Lambeth, London, England
The current bridge was designed by Thomas Page and opened in 1862. With a total length of  83,33 yds. (76.2 m), a width of 28,43 yds. (26 meters), and its seven arches, form a metal bridge with Gothic details of Charles Barry (the architect of Westminster Palace). It is the only bridge over the Thames which has seven arches and is the oldest of the central river. When it was built railroads had two two-meter wide in 1952 were eliminated.
The predominant color on the bridge is green, the color of the leather upholstery of the seats in the House of Commons is at the Westminster Palace area closest to the bridge. This color contrasts with the color of Lambeth Bridge which is red, like the seats of the House of Lords is on the opposite side of Parliament.
In 2005 he undertook a complete refurbishment, which was completed in 2007. This remodeling was intended to restore the bridge to its former glory, replacing and repainting metal plachas full.
