Northern pier was built in 1901 to protect the territory of the port from storms and sand drifts. To make it resistant to the impact force of waves, its northern side was strengthened with concrete tripods.

Invigorating air of the sea and moderate distance (a return walk to the end of the pier is about three and a half kilometers long) make it an ideal place for walking. The pier is also frequented by fishermen, who are meditating at the sea with fishing-rods in hands.
