The church of Cemil had been built just before the 2nd World War. In the time of people exchange between Turkey and Greece the Greek inhabitants of the village have been deported to Greece and Turks from Greece had to come here. While I was taking the photographs and old inhabitant of the village came to tell his story. He was born in Greece and had to leave his homeland with his family. When they arrived here, the didn't speak any Turkish and didn't know how to survive in this foreign country. - If you have any information about the church or the village etc., please contact the photographer - thank you!
