The Cathedral of St Martin in Lucca

The Duomo is the town’s main monument, dating to 1060, although the present structure was mainly rebuilt during the following centuries. The facade is exceptional, evoking the Pisan-Romanesque style but with enough originality and  idiosyncrasies to distinguish it from the Duomo at Pisa. Designed mostly by Guidetto da Como in the early 13th century, the west front contains three, wide ground-level arches, surmounted by three scalloped galleries with taffylike twisting columns tapering in size.

One of Italy’s top antiques markets is held the third Saturday and Sunday of every month in Piazza Antelminelli and the streets around the Duomo.

It is citation from "Frommer’s Italy 2007" travel guide by Darwin Porter & Danforth Prince, (page 284).

Please read in wikipedia article, why all the columns of the facade are different.
