EcoTech Wind Turbine Tour

The Ecotech Centre was built in 1999 and was the UK's first megawatt class windmill. Initially designed as a tourist attraction it now focuses on school visits and is a home for local companies.

Sir Norman Foster designed the viewing platform and it is still the only wind turbine in the world that’s open to the public - to climb! Many people come to Ecotech to climb the 300 steps up the wind turbine to the viewing platform
