National Gallery from Trafalgar Square including Nelson's Column, Fountains and Lions

Taken the 31/05/13
This was taken on the North Side of Trafalgar Square looking up the steps to the National Gallery. Nelson's Column, the Lions and the Fountains can all be seen. The tyre marks on the stone slabs are from events that are held in the square, such as concerts.

Note that when this was shot the fourth plinth held a bronze sculpture of a boy on a rocking horse, which was there until 25th July 2013. The contents of the fourth plinth change over time. My personal favorite (so far) is the Ship in a Bottle. See here for more on the fourth plinth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_plinth,_Trafalgar_Square

I have learned my lesson on Trafalgar Square, my previous Panorama there, shot on the South Side, took three whole days to stitch. That was a high-res one shot at 12mm. This one (actually shot earlier than the 12mm one) was done at 8mm which makes it much easier to sort out (just a couple of hours). Not that I'm stopping doing 12mm ones, as I prefer them (should I survive the stitching, that is). It's worth a look if you liked this one.
