Todo el cascarón del ábside central (de 4 m de diámetro) estaba recubierto de pinturas murales que se conservan en el Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña. Representan el Pantocrátor metido en una mandorla perlada, sentado en una franja transversal que está decorada con dibujos vegetales. A la altura de sus hombros están dibujadas las letras griegas Α y Ω, como símbolos del principio y el fin. El Pantocrátor está en actitud de bendecir con su mano derecha mientras que en la izquierda sostiene un libro abierto en que puede leerse:
«Ego sum lux mundi»
El significado de esta frase es "Yo soy la luz del mundo".
