I think that now you´ve got the technique for the Hdr. Very good series Poj, great to watch more panos made by you. Good contrast, colours, i think you could extra sharp a little bit it would get a little bit more punch.

Thank you very much Bernard, good to have your comments...sometime I am confusing between ture HDR, Fusion and manually retouch, cannot make up my mind. David help me a lot to archive this effect :-)
You using Sigma8mm F3.5 right? I am use the previous one F 4.0, someone told me the new F.3.5 much sharper. Is that ture?

uhmmmm, normally I use f8 rather than 4f because as they say it´s not really tru. I think that if you use that aperture you will take out more from the depth of field and everything it will be on focus. For the sharpness I always do it with other programs. All my adjust are 0 doing panoramas, another thing it´s taking normal pictures but speaking in panoramaas terms I never put adjust throgh the camera.

Sorry, I did not mean f stop, I mean the Sigma lens that you use.
Which version of Sigma 8mm. do you have?

I have the version that widest f-stop = F4. bought 3 years ago.

The current version is offer widest f-stop 3.5, people said much sharper.

However when I shoot I always use atleaset F.8 and F.11,
Esp. night short to have a star effect from the lights.

Ups, sorry !!! Mine it´s 3.5 ;). I think Hdr it will give us plenty of advantges with the quality. It´s a shame that canon didn´t apply more control for the bracketing system it in the 5D Mark II. They still with the +/-2 and I read that it´s got more exposure compensation but i´m not sure about that.

In my opinion, Nikon it´s better for making HDR photography also Canon but it´s a little bit more complicated. For most of the times it´s enough the +/-2 but for others it isn´t. :(.

Cheers :)

:-) You got a new 8mm F3.5, that's one many people said it's as sharp as
Nikon 10.5mm. and less Chromatic Aberration. Is that ture in your opinion?
Yes, about 5D MkII I looking forword to see that camera as well :-)
For Nikon D700 you can do at +/-4 stop right? But can you do AEB in one
click like Canon? or you have to press shutter 3 times :-)
Por Poj | 03/12/08 - 18:14:30 GMT +0100
I don´t undertand you very well. I mean that on the D700 you´ve got a +/- 5 AEBand of course you can do it as a burst . You only have to press the shutter ones or frame by frame. On Canon of course you can do it but not as Nikon because you only have +/-2 AEB ( and you can fire all the AEB with one shoot). Also with the new Canon 5D Mark II you can only shoot at 4 fps per second and comparing with Nikon it´s  slower because with Nikon you could reach at 6 fps and with the grip you could do it at 9 fps. But all depence on your needs !!!!.

In my opinion Nikon it´s sharper than Sigma.

The two brands are very good.

You explanation was clear :-) Seem like Canon camera still need
a Nikon lens for good Fish Eye len... so sad.
I just recently visited dpreview.com and good news is ...
Nikon unveils 24.5MP D3X digital SLR. However I still have to stick
with my Canon 450D due the money in my pocket :-(
Will get it someday Nikor 10.5mm.

Hey Poj the way you take the photo it´s the same one, the camera it´s only a tool it could be good but the photographer it´s the real important, doesn´t matter the model or the type. You are doing very good and the best thing it´s we are all trying new things and techniques. You can do great photos with a sigma, nikon , canon .

You can take winners with a Canon 450D !!!! ;).
