I think I prefer these ones, because they look more natural. Try to take out the chromatic aberration in photoshop you will win more quality. By the way you are right the way to it´s RAW always shoot the highest quality and then if you want to work in jpg you can but you still got the RAW.
And you have the advantages of the RAW files, remember that in the CS3 version you can still retouch the Tiff files or jpeg files.
