Le Rhône traverse le petit bourg de Seyssel de 5000 habitants. Avant que la Savoie ne soit devenue française, le fleuve était la frontière: il y avait le Seyssel qui parlait français et il y avait celui de la rive opposée qui parlait italien. Pour l'histoire, ils existent toujours deux mairies, car le Rhône sépare le département de la Haute-Savoie du département de l'Ain. Un pont construit en 1860, assure la communication entre les deux moitiés du village. Nous nous trouvons sur le coté anciennement français de l'Ain. Je vous recommande le petit restaurant sur la berge spécialisé dans les pizzas. La mienne, savoureuse, était aux cèpes et à la crème fraiche...
